Compassion Research and Evidence with Lone Fjorback, PhD and Nanja Hansen, PhD

Compassion is a new and developing research area. In the 8-week live online Compassion Research and Evidence course, you will explore the newest research on compassion and gain a deeper understanding of research in the field through eight topics:

  • defining compassion
  • compassion training programs
  • neuroscience
  • education
  • healthcare
  • informal caregivers
  • organizations/leadership

During the course, you will read Sharon Salzberg’s book Loving Kindness: The revolutionary art of happiness. Loving Kindness meditation will be a common thread in the course as each week you’ll be invited to participate in compassion cultivation practices to deepen your learning.

About the Instructors:

Lone Fjorback, PhD, is the Director of the Danish Center for Mindfulness and Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University. She has published research on topics such as mindfulness, compassion, mental health, stress and depression. 

Nanja Holland Hansen, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist and compassion researcher. Her research includes exploration of CCT as a preventive intervention for caregivers of people with a mental illness.
